FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Answers to common questions about appointments, insurance, and psychiatric care.
What is a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP)?
A PMHNP is an advanced practice registered nurse with graduate training in psychiatry. PMHNPs diagnose mental health conditions, provide psychiatric evaluations, prescribe and manage medication, and offer supportive therapy. PMHNP-BC means the nurse practitioner is board certified. In Colorado, nurse practitioners practice with full prescriptive authority.
How do I become a new patient?
Book an appointment by calling (303) 304-5795 or emailing info@sanintegrativepsych.com. You will be asked to complete registration and intake paperwork and provide relevant records and insurance information before your first visit.
How long are appointments?
An initial psychiatric evaluation is about 60 minutes, and medication-management follow-up visits are about 30 minutes. ADHD assessments use QbCheck, an FDA-cleared computer-based test you can complete from home or in our office.
Do you take insurance?
Yes. We are in network with Aetna, Cigna, Optum, First Health, Curative, Medicare, Railroad Medicare, Health First Colorado (Medicaid), Colorado Access, and Rocky Mountain Health Plans. Self-pay is also available. Coverage varies by plan, so please confirm your mental health benefits with your insurer.
How much does a visit cost without insurance?
Self-pay rates are $180 for an initial visit and $120 for a follow-up visit. You can also request a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling.
Do you offer telehealth?
Yes. Secure video visits are available for patients who are physically located in Colorado at the time of the visit. In-person visits are available at our Aurora office.
What ages do you see?
We see children, teens, adults, and older adults. A parent or legal guardian takes part in care for patients under 18.
Is this a crisis service?
No. This practice does not provide emergency or inpatient psychiatric services. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline), call 911, or go to the nearest emergency room.
